Arun Valley trek is one of the non-touristy trekking trails in the southern frontiers of the Himalayas. It
takes you through the path towards Arun Valley located between the Sagarmatha and Makalu Barun
National Parks. Trekking to Arun valley is rather an alternative of Khumbu region trek and is designed for
those who want to trek to Everest Base Camp and Everest region through a less crowded path.
Trekking to this breathtaking valley requires one to have great stamina and strength to fully enjoy the
natural beauties along the valley. This trekking expedition usually starts with a flight from Kathmandu to
Tumlingtar and through the hills, valleys and villages of the Everest region along which you will get to
witness the Panch Pokhari and reach Mera Valley, one of the most famous trekking peaks in Nepal.
Throughout your journey you will get to see Mt. Kanchanjunga, Makalu Barun, Lhotse, Everest,
Thamserku, Nuptse, Amadablam and Choyo right in front of your trail. The trek descends at Lukla from
where you will take a fight back to Kathmandu.
Along with these majestic snow-capped giants, the scenery along this trekking trail also includes 650
species of birds and over 800 species of butterflies. Arun valley also inhabits orchids and endangered
Panda. While this valley bestows with some finest and exquisite natural beauties, it also has the most
beautiful cultural essence. Throughout the path, you will also get to walk among the immaculate Sherpa,
Rai and Limbu villages, which are the major attractions of this trek.
The combination of nature and culture along this less traveled path makes trekking to Arun valley the
most enthralling experience.
