Everest Base Camp Luxury Lodge trek is one of the grandest treks in the world. Stepping foot in the earth’s highest point offers you a unique opportunity to trek in the Himalayas. The Everest Base Camp Trekking Route 

This Everest Base Camp Luxury lodge trek begins with a full day sightseeing tour of the historical and cultural sites of Kathmandu. Most of the sites include UNESCO world heritage sites. In the next morning, you will fly to Edmund Hillary Airport at Lukla. No doubt, Lukla offers outstanding scenery. Due to this, it features in the National Geographic. The trek begins from Lukla and the trekking trail is steeply ascent to Namche Bazaar, the capital of Sherpas. From Namche Bazar, you will see the spectacular mountain vistas.

The trek continues to a famous vantage point called Kala Patthar and it offers mesmerizing 360-degree panoramas of the Himalayas. Likewise, when you continue the trek you will reach Everest base camp. Therefore, the trek is worth to choose to make proud yourself to be on the top of the earth. After the successful trek to Everest Base camp, we trek down to Lukla for a return flight.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)

    Upon our arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, the representative of Oriental Journeys will greet you and also transfer you to your hotel. After having some rest and refreshment, we may stroll you in the streets of Thamel, a tourist hub in Kathmandu for some souvenir shopping. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Oriental Journeys in excellent Nepalese cuisine and introduce to you about Nepal's food culture. overnight stay at 5 -star hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 02: Kathmandu: full day Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

    Today, you have a full day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley. The guide from Oriental Journeys will take you to the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. During the trip, you will get a chance to explore the UNESCO listed world heritage sites including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Boudhanath. In the evening, we will have a discussion about the trek preparation with our trek leader. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 03: Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding [2,652m/8,700ft]: 3 - 4 hrs

    Today, we will check out the hotel after having breakfast. we will be escorted to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan international airport, Kathmandu for an early morning flight to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft). Lukla is a gateway destination for starting Everest region trekking. After the 40 minutes of scenic flight, above the breathtaking white mountains, we reach Tenzing -Hillary Airport at Lukla. Lukla is a very beautiful airport and it lands on a hillside surrounded by high mountains peaks. After meeting our crew member at Lukla, we start our trek through the prosperous village of Lukla until reaching Phakding. Overnight stay at Yeti Mountain Home or similar hotel in Phakding.

  • Day 04: Phakding - Namche Bazaar [3440 m/11,280 ft]: 5 - 6 hrs

    The trek continues in the morning from Phakding to Namche Bazaar.
    The trail combines a beautiful pine forest and this track leads us along the Dudh Koshi river through many suspension bridges. Among them, Hillary suspension bridge is a famous one. During the trekking, you will see a wonderful view-point of the glossy Mt. Thamserku (6618m). After crossing the settlement of Benkar Chumoa, Monjo we enter in the check post and entrance to Sagarmatha National park. After this, we cross the path of Jorsale before reaching Namche Bazaar. The trail climbs through the forests and bridges until we reach the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. After a final steep ascent of about two hours, we get our first sight of Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. The trek continues from Chautara to Namche Bazaar. We stay overnight in Namche Bazaar at Yeti Mountain home or similar standard.

  • Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

    Acclimatization is very important during the Everest Base Camp trekking. This is the scheduled acclimatization day for this trek. Although you have time for taking rest, the health expert recommends that the trekkers should stay active and moving even during the rest day. Therefore, it is better to spend the day taking a day's hike to Thame. In your free time, you can explore Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest region with government offices, internet cafes, shops, and restaurant. Besides this, our guide will take us to the tourist visitor center near the headquarter of Sagarmatha National Park, we will get a chance to observe the first Everest ascenders, Sherpa culture along with various plant and animal life. After this, we further climb up to the famous airstrip at Syangboche. Just above the airstrip, there is an Everest View Hotel with the great views of the highest mountains on the earth. After having lunch and spending some time in Khumjung, we walk back down to Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar at Yeti Mountain Home or a similar standard.

  • Day 06: Namche Bazzar to Deboche[3820m/1253ft]: 5 - 6 hrs

    We start the trekking early in the morning towards Pangboche. From here, we will enjoy a superb view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and a close-up view of Thamserku. The trekking trail follows with a few ups and downs. Along the way, we may see wildlife animals like Pheasant, musk deer or herd of Himalayan Thar. Again we have to go on a gradually down up trail up to Kayangjuma. This route takes you to Sansa, the major trail junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base camp. When we continue our trekking, this trekking track takes us through the pine forests. After this, we cross the prayer-flag festooned bridge over Dudh Koshi River. After this, we reach Phunki Thenga, a small settlement with a couple of teahouses and army post. We will have your lunch at Phunki Thenga. Then we again go steeply up through the pine forest, we reach in Tengboche. Tengboche is the great place for close-up views of the Many Himalayas including Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Everest. Furthermore, it has the biggest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu region. When we walk continuously about an hour in beautiful rhododendron forest, we reach Deboche. Overnight stay at hotel in Deboche.

  • Day 07: Deboche to Dingboche [4360m/14304ft]: 4 - 5 hrs

    We begin the trekking in the morning after breakfast. Today, we will pass several chortens, mani walls, and small villages. During the trekking, we will enjoy the close-up views of Ama-Dablam. In the afternoon, we go the Pheriche or take the eastward trail. After this, the trekking trail is quite moderate. After crossing the Imja valley, we approach the confluence of the Lobuche River. From here, we again descend into the river and begin the last and steepest climb up to Dingboche. In Dingboche, we enjoy the beautiful array of fields, enclosed by stone walls to protect barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from the cold winds as well as grazing animals. Overnight stay at hotel in Dingboche.

  • Day 08: Dingboche - Duglha [4,600 m/15,090 ft]: 3 - 4 hrs

    This day starts with a climb to Duglha through the Khumbu Khola valley. The trek offers awesome views of the mountain on all sides. When we come to Yak herder's place called Dusa, the valley begins to narrow and we continue our trek through Phulung Karpo, the campsites during the first successful Everest Expedition in 1953. There is a Chola Lake above the Phulung Karpo. Along the way, we can see the majestic view of Mt. Pumori (7138 m/ 23418 ft). But its scene hides when we catch the descending trails and come across the roaring stream. After this, we ascend to Dugla from where we can see the tip of Nuptse, Cholatse, Thamserku and several other peaks. It is better to spend a night in Dugla as Duglha is ideal for the acclimatization. Overnight stay at Duglha.

  • Day 09: Duglha - Lobuche [4940 m/16,207 ft]: 2 - 3 hrs

    From Duglha too, we trek up the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier. As we ascend the chupki Lhara, we found an eerie ridge top with dramatic mountain views. At the top of the ridge, we will find an array of stones with prayer flags of Scott Fisher (American mountaineer), 10 times Everest Submitter Babu Chiri Sherpa (mountain guide from Nepal) as a memory. As the trails drop to the Khumbu glacier, we can see several great peaks including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal. Now onwards, we are nearby the Mt. Everest. When we trek ahead, we feel little out of breath due to high altitude. Overnight stay at Lobuche.

  • Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,594 ft): 6-7 hours

    The trekking trail of Gorak Shep goes through the lateral moraine of Khumbu glacier. During the trek, we see the crest of the North Ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse and Nuptse. Again a small ascent takes us to the Thangma Riju. You can get a 360-degree vista of the snowy mountains. If we ascent more, we can get the first glimpse of Kala Pattar. You will have a pleasant time in Gorakshep since the place is surrounded by snow-capped mountains including the top of the world-Mt. Everest.

  • Day 11: Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar - Pheriche [4280 m/14,070 ft]: 8 - 9 hrs

    Today is a very exciting day for us. we start trekking early at dawn to catch to dramatic views from Kala Patthar. It offers the first light of the day shining on Mt. Everest. Therefore, we need to be prepared for an early morning at a cold temperature (10 to 14 C) beforehand. While ascending from Kala Patthar we may pause on the way for capturing the breathtaking viewpoints. After several hours of ascent, we reach Kala Patthar. After we reach the top, we get panoramic views of the Himalayas ranging from one massif to another.

    If the visitors want to visit the Everest Base Camp, they will have an early breakfast because it takes 4 to 5 hours to reach Everest Base Camp from Gorakshep. In the afternoon, the group will have lunch together and descend down to Pheriche. Overnight stay at local lodge in Pheriche.

  • Day 12: Pheriche-Pangboche-Tengboche-Namche Bazzar [3,440 m/11,280 ft]: 6 - 7 hrs

    After having a good rest in Pheriche, we trek down through the hillside surrounded by Rhododendron and juniper trees. We may have lunch either in Pangboche or Phunki Tenga depending on our hunger. After crossing the prayer flag over the Dudh Koshi river, the trail follows the Dudh Koshi gorge descending rapidly through the pine forests. We follow the route to Sansa and reach Kyangjuma (3570m/11,710ft) for a relaxed lunch. Along the way, we enjoyed the scenery of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nutse peaks. After having lunch, descend down in a steeply-wooded slope beyond Kyangjuma. We may also have a chance to see mountain goats, snow leopards, and colorful pheasants while passing through the forest. After passing a Chorten, we reach the army camp at Namche Bazaar. During our stay in Namche Bazaar, we would like to take a long last look back to Lhotse, and the tips of Everest and Tengboche. After this, we will take a hot shower and have a relaxed sleep in Namche Bazaar at Yeti Mountain home of similar standard hotel.

  • Day 13: Namche Bazaar - Lukla [2,800m/9,186ft]: 6 hrs

    The trail from Namche Bazaar to Lukla is steeply downward therefore, we need to walk cautiously so that our leg will be safe. After crossing the suspension bridge over the fast flowing Dudh Koshi, the trail becomes more level and natural. During the trek, we start to get the light breeze. The sore throat and colds will be gone as we pass through the charming mountain air. Although we are traveling the same route, we will get completely different views and we walk through the Sherpa villages. After arriving in Lukla, we experience the culmination of the fantastic trek with a happy note that everyone safe back with the proud to be encountering the earth's tallest point. Overnight stay at Yeti mountain home or similar lodge.

  • Day 14: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu

    Today, we will fly back to Kathmandu after the exciting trek to Everest Base camp. The early morning scenic flight to Kathmandu takes us to Kathmandu and we can take rest throughout the day at a hotel in Kathmandu. If you are interested in some gifts and souvenier from Nepal, we will help you to buy in Kathmandu. To celebrate the successful completion of our journey, we will have farewell dinner in the Kathmandu.

  • Day 15: Final Departure

    The journey to the Himalayas ends today. You came as a traveler and become a friend with us. We will share back photos, trade emails to our travel companions and organize this memory. If we have more time, we do shopping and sightseeing. After this, a representative of Oriental Journeys will drop off you at the airport before 3 hours of your scheduled flight.
