Ama Dablam Expedition

Literally, Ama Dablam means “Mother and Pearl Necklace” depicting the perennial hanging glacier as the pearl. Amadablam (6,812m), one of the spectacular mountains in eastern Nepal is popular among the expedition enthusiast due to divesting beauty. The mountain is considered to be beautifully shaped and attractive. Mt. Amadablam is an iconic peak of Everest region and every traveler here sets the mountain in this pictorial diary. The mountain is probably most loved after Mt. Everest itself in the region.

Since climbers have to cross thorny ice rocks and complete steep snow climbing, the mountain is regarded technically tough to climb. Before setting up for climbing of Amadablam one needs technical strength and good experience of rock climbing and mountaineering. Normally, mountaineers make 3 high camps to climb the mountain.

If we look back to the climbing history of Amadablam, the first ascent was made by Mike Gill, Barry Bishop, Mike Ward, and Wally Romanes on March 13, 1961. They climb via its southwest ridge which is a famous route till the date. No doubt, one can experience the stunning views of the entire Khumbu region during climbing of the mountain. Among them Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Island peak, Mt. Makalu is the major.
