Dhaulagiri Expedition, the seventh highest peak in the Himalayas is located to the northeast of Pokhara.  This is renowned as “The Mother of Snow”and it is even popular as “The White Mountain” to the stranger. It is located to the northeast of Pokhara. Mt. Dhaulagiri was first explored in 1808 and the news of its exploration makes the rest of the world skeptical because it was thought to be the highest mountain in the world for the westerners for many years. The mountain was considered difficult and impossible to climb up since many years of its discovery but travel seekers are interested to climb it up with the concept of the highest mountain. The several attempts have been made after 1950s, and the first successful attempts were done on 13^th May, 1960 by the Swiss Expedition and it is considered as the first climb of the Mt. Dhaulagiri. During the time, they followed Tukuche over Dhampus Pass route to approach the summit from the North-East Col.
