Lhotse Expedition

Lhotse lies at the 3 km south of Mt. Everest and it is separated by the South Col. The literal meaning of Lhotse is “South Peak”and it is a part of the Everest Massif. The three peaks: Lhotse East or Middle, Lhotse Shar and Lhotse combination makes the peaks Lhotse massif. The south face of the peaks is one of the largest mountain faces but it is more technical and more attempts are failed from the face. It has also another normal route which shares the same base camp of Mt. Everest. The Lhotse summit was first attempted by Mount Lhotse and Australian Expedition team first climbed up Mount Lhotse in 1970. However, the main summit of Lhotse was first climbed on May 18, 1956 by Swiss team.
