Everest Three Passes Trek is one of the very demanding treks in the Everest region of Nepal. The main attraction of this trek includes Renjo La (5446m), Cho La (5420m), and Kongma La Pass (5535m). Everest Three Passes Trek leads you to the trail from where you can encounter various mountains including Everest Base Camp, Kala Pathar, Gokyo Lakes, and Gokyo Ri. In addition to this, you can see the splendid view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, and many other tall peaks throughout the trek. Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu
- Oriental Journeys representative will receive you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. The detail tour plan will be discussed in the evening.
Day 02: Flight to Lukla and trekking up to Phakding
- We should be ready for early morning flight to Lukla - Tenzing Hilary Airport.
- We will have scenic flight to Lukla with the close view of the mountain range and hills of Khumbu region.
- After landed at Lukla, the trekking starts after meeting the support crew.
- Today's trekking ends up at Phakding.Day 03: Trek to Namche bazaar
- We will have easy trekking route from Namche to Phakding and it takes 3 hours.
- The trail comprises of a suspension bridge.
- The more we move towards Namche, we are welcome by the views of the mountains.
- The highlights of this trail would be Tibetan wall paintings and occasional view of the mountains.Day 04: Acclimatization day at Namche
- Usually Acclimatization has been done in Namche. During the time, we trek from Namche to Everest View hotel, located in the highest altitude.
- The acclimatization helps us to get prepared for the trek upwards.
- It further offers panoramic views of the mountains and the surrounding area from the hotel.
- Acclimatization is highly recommended for the trekkers for preparing our body and soul for upward trekking.Day 05: Trek to Tongboche from Namche
- The trekking trail from Namche to Tengboche consists of both plain flat land and steep uphill.
- The flat trekking trail provides us the outstanding views of the mountains like Thamserku, Everest, Pumori, Lhotse and other Himalayan ranges.
- We are further enjoyed the trail on the bank of Dudhkoshi river and the rhododendron forest.
- Once you reached at Tengboche, we see lots of monastery and its enchanting beauty.Day 06: Trek to Dengboche from Tengboche
- Today, we have to trek in the slight uphill trail until Pangboche.
- We will be fascinating with the views of the mountain on the way.
- Suspension bridge and wooden bridges are the highlights of today’s trekking.Day 07: Trek from Dingboche to Chhukung (4750m/15,580ft.)- 3/4 hours
- While trekking from Dingboche to Chhukung, we can see the views of different Mountains like Tawache, Amadablam, Chalotse, Nuptse and Lhotse and we will be fascinating with its scenery.
- The trekking move towards Chhukung passing by stone walled fields and enter into the gignatic Himalays and Yak Herders.
- Overnight stay at ChhukungDay 08: Trek to Chhukung Ri and trek back to Chhukung
- Today, we climb up the Chhukung Ri
- Then we cross Kong Ma La Pass after visiting the Chhukung village.
- Acclimatize via short hikingDay 09: Cross to Kongma La Pass (5535m/18,159ft.) , Trek to Lobuche (4940m/16,210ft.)- 6/7 hours
- We will have legendary experience while trekkign from Chhukung to Kong Ma La and it leads us towards Lobuche.
- Today trekking takes you towards the highest part of the trip i.e. Kong Ma La Pass.
- Lobuche can be reached after crossing Moraine.Day 10: Trek to Lobuche (4940m) by crossing Kongma La (5535m)
- The trail continues towards the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier.
- It offers crest of the northern ridge of the Mt. Everest.
- Beside this, the trail further offers stunning views of the mountains as well.Day 11: Trek from Gorak Shep to Kala Pathar (5545m/18,192ft) and trek back to Lobuche (4940m/16,207ft) - 8-9 hours
- The early morning hikes takes you to Kalapathar.
- We start our trek from Kalapathar early in the morning in order to catch the first light of the sun shining on Mt. Everest.
- We should be prepared from the high altitude.Day 12: Trek from Lobuche to Dzongla ( 4830m/ 15,850ft.)- 3-4 hours
- The trek from Lobuche to Dzongala trails offers you an enchanting experience of the alpine environment in the Himalayas.
- The downhill trekking leads us to pass Chola La Lake
- The trek further offers mesmerizing Awi Peak.Day 13: Trek to Gokyo via Cho La Pass (5368m)
- When we ascend high, we will start to see Cho La Pass and view of Ama Dablam in the west.
- Since we have to cross the crevasses, climbing Chola can be very tricky.
- The summit of the pass is marked by flags.
- Along with magnificent and breathtaking scenery, the trail comes to Ngozumpa glacier, the longest glaciers among six lake series.Day 14: Climb Gokyo Ri and tour ar Gokyo Lake (4th and 5th)
- Climbing towards Gokyo lakes offer us enchanting views of the mountain.
- We can further tour in the four lakes in the same day.
- We have chance to view from famous scoundrel viewpoint near fifth lake too.Day 15: Trek from Gokyo to Marlung (4210m/13,810ft. ) via Renjo La Pass (5360m/17585ft.)
- We start early morning trekking. The trails move along the Dudhpokhari.
- The trekking would be fantastic with the fabulous views Mt. Rolwaling ranges and other Himalayan ranges.
- We have to pass rocky and windy trails in the south of Tsho Lake.
- The trekking from marlung to the east bank of Bhote Koshi River would be strenuous and adventurous.Day 16: Trek from Marlung to Namche Bazaar - 5/6 hours
- After this, the trek descend down from Marlung to Thame , the traditional routes followed by Tibetan traders.
- Then we will cross the Bhote Koshi river and descend down to Taranga.
- After crossing Thame on a Hillside and small sherpa villages, we will reach at Namche bazaar.
- Overnight stay at Namche bazaar.Day 17: Trek down to Lukla
- Today, we will descend down to Lukla from Namche bazar
Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu and visit local market
- A well experienced guide will take you to the major heritage and historical sites of the valley including UNESCO World Heritage sites: Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath in a private vehicle.
Day 19: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing
- A well experienced guide will take you to the major heritage and historical sites of the valley including UNESCO World Heritage sites: Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Pashupatinath in a private vehicle.
Day 20: Final Departure
- You will fly back to your destinations with amazing memories of Mt. Everest, the top of the world.
